Perfect birthday lunch out. Food was beautiful, service was perfect. We didn't need to ask for breaks in between courses, it was managed by the staff who were all friendly and attentive. They were also very up on the food allergy we mentioned when booking. Highly recommend.

A lovely pub in a countryside location on the countryside road between Newbury and Andover, and along the route between villages of Vernham Deane and St.Mary Bourne. The interior is incredible. On the evening we visited, after a day of volunteering at Enham Trust in nearby town Enham Alamein, the fireplaces were roaring and the tables were all nicely set ready for dinner. The menu and specials looked interesting but we weren't eating there this night. Very pleasant welcome and service from the staff (and friendly hello from others in at the bar). One star off only because there was just one real ale on tap, and it was of poor conditioning. Food & drinks: Just one real ale available, and it was in poor conditioning on the afternoon I visited, sadly.

Had a family reunion lunch with family from Uk and Zimbabwe. We had a private area for our half deaf Uncle so he could hear. The staff were fabulous, friendly and the food was divine. Thank you.

A great pub offering a welcoming atmosphere, friendly efficient service and delicious food at an affordable price. We're lucky to have pubs like this, but they need customers' support to survive.

Lovely, big inn with ample parking. There were lots of charming rooms to choose from, all beautifully decorated. The food and service was excellent. My steak frites was huge, tender and perfectly cooked. My husband's steak and ale pie was delicious and huge. The gravy was delicious. Our friends chicken kiev were delicious and ample too. Prices were great value for money and the house wine was great. We didn't stay at the inn but the pictures of the rooms looked very nice.

Loved this place to bits. Our room was newly renovated in a delightfully eclectic style. The food was so good we ate all our meals there, breaking my longstanding rule to always avoid eating dinner at the hotel. Breakfast was incredible, and included in the room rate, which honestly made it feel like a steal!

Friendly staff, amazing food & great rooms. Loved the extra touches e.g. Taylor’s coffee bags, generous bathroom products & soft pillows. Stayed for dinner which was delicious. We had the daily specials. Full English breakfast was fabulous too. Thank you!

A lovely village pub about 7 miles from the A34 and past the turn off for Highclere castle. The pub staff were very welcoming and friendly and check in was nice and quick. Our room had everything we needed for our one night stay and was of a high standard. The bed was firm and comfortable and the en-suite bathroom had an excellent shower, easy to use with very good water pressure. So will save the best till last, the food in our opinion was excellent. We had a starter each (I had the Korean chicken wings which were stunning) then the main event roast beef Sunday roast all of which was super. The pub staff service was also excellent and we had some good banter during our time there. All in all a highly recommended place to stay particularly if you’re heading to Highclere castle. Thanks for a great experience 👍🏻 A+

We loved this cute cosy pub. The room was very nice and had everything we needed down to a small kettle and teabags in the room. The only disappointment was breakfast was not served until 830am and we had to leave just before that. This is a very late time for breakfast. They did make us up a continental breakfast to take with us but doesn't make up for bacon🤣 The staff and the food were absolutely amazing. Compliments to the Chef! Dog friendly also which is a big plus! Thankyou we will be back. Nearby activities: Just past the pub was a lovely little walk alongside the stream with a nice play park
